Drill Down Your Niche
While maybe not a traditional “marketing” modality, niching down allows you to become the go-to person for your product or service. This makes marketing & sales much easier and helps to magnetize your clients to you. When you become an authority within your niche, people naturally will want to work with you and your name will be top-of-mind when your service area comes up for referrals, etc.
Develop a Personal Brand
Personal branding is so important in the online space. This is the key to connecting with your target audience. Crafting an aligned & meaningful “I help statement” and a personal brand deck is so important for establishing yourself as a professional brand online. Your personal brand makes you approachable and establishes the first real “connection” with your target audience.
Network & Make New Connections
I know what you’re probably thinking - “ugh, networking”. But when you make genuine, real connections with people in similar or complementary industries this can be absolutely invaluable for word-of-mouth marketing & referrals. And in 2023, networking doesn’t need to mean going to in-person networking events anymore (although, it totally can if you’re into that!). You can easily connect with new people on social media like IG, LinkedIn, and TikTok. Start building relationships on there and eventually, if you feel it might be worth a conversion - consider setting up a virtual meet & greet just to chat about your businesses. Worst case - you have a 20-minute conversation with a like-minded entrepreneur. Best case - you’re now top-of-mind in that person’s head for your niche (and you may have someone to refer your own clients if they offer something your clients need!).
Start Offering Discovery Calls (And Make Sure They Convert)
Discovery calls are SUCH a great first real interaction between you and a prospective client. Offering discovery calls is an inviting way to chat with your leads in a way that feels supportive & low-pressure to them. It’s an easy way to showcase your energy and explain to the person why you’re the best person for the job! Learning to turn these discovery calls into clients can take time, but once you have a method, it’s a great type of marketing for your coaching business to funnel in leads.
Create an Irresistible Lead Magnet
Another amazing marketing tool for bringing in leads (or in this case, email sign-ups for email marketing) is a lead magnet. A “lead magnet” is a freebie that people receive in exchange for their email. This can be anything from a discount, an upcoming or pre-recorded webinar, or an e-book. Whatever form you choose, you want your lead magnet to cast a wide enough net to attract a substantial amount of interest, however, you want it to be specific to your service/offering.
Create An Email Funnel To Turn Leads Into Clients
Email funnels are one of my FAVOURITE ways to market to warm leads. Once you have a killer lead magnet regularly bringing people onto your email list, you can send a campaign of targeted emails to convert the clicks into clients.
If you’re new to email marketing (or marketing your coaching business in general), you may be thinking “wtf”. But I promise, it’s SO much easier than you think, and I teach the exact method (with email templates) that has made me thousands of dollars within my signature coaching program Freedom Club.
Blogging & Search Engine Optimization
Blogging and SEO (search engine optimization) often can feel overwhelming, especially to new entrepreneurs who feel they need to be everywhere at once. However, when you create a cohesive content strategy that is aligned with your passion and your target audience’s need, finding topics to blog about is MUCH easier. When you create a high-quality blog post, you can easily repurpose that content onto your social media, email, etc. Blogging and showing up in organic search results is a great way to increase brand awareness and trust, and if done correctly, increase new leads into your funnel without paying per click or view.
Create a Social Media Strategy
You’ve probably heard it before, but staying consistent is key to being successful on social media. Having a strategy and building out content pillars is one of the best ways to ensure your content is engaging, educational, and actually performs! In 2023, I believe short video content like Reels & TikToks will continue to stay relevant, and they’re impossible to ignore at this point. If you’re going to give social media marketing a go for your business, it’s time to embrace the video (I promise, when it’s from a place of alignment, it’s not as bad as you might think!).
Create an Email Marketing Strategy
We’re already going to be using email marketing specific to our funnels, but what about weekly newsletters? Weekly newsletters are a great way to keep your subscribers in the loop on upcoming offers, provide helpful tips, answer frequently asked questions and so much more! Personally, I looove Flo Desk for email marketing (use this link for 50% off!) and it’s what I suggest to all my clients incorporating email marketing into their marketing mix for their coaching businesses.
Create an Outreach Strategy For Podcasting (Or Start Your Own!)
Similar to the networking suggestion above, start building connections with those who you may feel you’d be a good fit for their podcast. Occasionally, these people may post that they are looking for guests OR if you’re feeling more outgoing you can create an outreach strategy to pitch yourself as a guest. Guest podcasting is a great type of organic marketing that can help build brand awareness and trust. Pitching for guest podcasting shouldn’t be spammy, and make sure you do a little research before reaching out!
Alternatively, consider starting your own podcast. My Money, Mindset & Manifestation podcast is one of my biggest marketing channels, and it’s also one of my absolute favorites. I LOVE talking about mindset, business, manifestation, etc. and personally, I think it’s one of the best podcasts about manifestation & business out there.
